Job Summary

This part-time role (approximately 20 hours/week) offers flexibility for emergencies or special projects. The ideal candidate has experience maintaining and repairing commercial buildings, enjoys hands-on construction and maintenance work, and takes pride in ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for building tenants.

Responsibilities

Building Operations

Perform maintenance and repairs before engaging external trades

Complete regular inspections and logs (fire, HVAC, elevator, alarm systems)

Assist management and members with scheduled tasks

General landscaping duties: lawn care, trimming shrubs, garden maintenance, snow removal, and walkway salting

Keep detailed records of issues, events, and resolutions

General Construction & Renovation

Drywall repair and painting to a high standard

Renovation and move-in-ready office preparation

Build or modify office spaces using metal stud walls, drywall, and insulation

Run electrical wiring in preparation for licensed electrician connection

Moderate plumbing repairs

Building Technology (Asset)

Assist with running internet and AV cabling

Manage security cameras and update software

Support AV setup for meeting rooms and event spaces

Requirements

7-9 years' experience as a commercial building superintendent or small business owner in property maintenance

Experience with multi-story commercial buildings (offices, hotels, medical buildings, schools)

Strong skills in drywall repair, painting, HVAC, plumbing, and moderate electrical work

Attention to detail, pride in work, and ability to manage diverse tasks

Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills

Comfortable using smartphone apps for tasks and communication

Physical ability to perform varied maintenance and construction work

Local to St. Catharines with valid driver's license and access to a vehicle

Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving needs

Ability to pass a criminal background check

Preferred / Assets

Knowledge of Ontario Building and Fire Codes

WHMIS and Working at Heights certification

Plumbing and/or electrical certifications

Tech-savvy with interest in building systems

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
