About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on
Building Operator
to join our property management team. The Building Operator will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and efficient operation of our buildings, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems are functioning properly and that our tenants enjoy a safe and comfortable environment.
This position is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, etc.)
Respond promptly to tenant service requests and ensure issues are resolved efficiently
Monitor and adjust building automation systems to optimize performance and energy efficiency
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for scheduled maintenance and repairs
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, and general building upkeep as required
Participate in the on-call rotation to respond to after-hours emergencies
Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in building operations, maintenance, or a related field
Completion of a technical diploma or certification in building systems, HVAC, or a related trade (an asset)
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and energy management principles
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
