Job Description

Brandt is surently looking to fill a Building Operator position in their Regina, SK location. The Building Operator will be responsible for ensuring properties are effectively maintained. This position will also be responsible for reporting and completing tasks, as requested by the Management Team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To operate the heating ventilation and air conditioning equipment within the properties assigned
  • Maintain the general appearance, cleanliness and security of the properties assigned
  • Carry out regular building inspections and checklists, responding to conditions requiring attention.
  • Ensure that all day-to-day tenant request for services are carried out promptly in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assist in implementing preventative maintenance programs
  • Maintain equipment in assigned properties (chemical treatments, grease fans, belts/fitters. etc.)
  • Maintain updated logbooks and meter readings for the building equipment
  • Operate the building automation systems in assigned properties.
  • Ensure ongoing repairs and maintenance are implemented "in house" (lighting changes, plumbing repairs, door & lock repairs, adjusting thermostats)
  • Responsible for 24 hour emergency "on call" availability
  • To assist in arranging, organizing and meeting supplies/contractors on-site to coordinate work being performed in the properties assigned.
  • Monitor parking lots and report suspicious activities when necessary following Brandt Developments standard policies and procedures guidelines.
  • Issue purchase orders and order work/materials/equipment from approved suppliers and contractors
  • Track stock items for assigned properties.
  • Assist with the operations budget and operate the building within the budget parameters
  • In conjunction with the designed project manager, assist in the coordination of tenant or in house fit up and landlord's construction services in the building.
  • In conjunction with the manager responsible for emergency preparedness, review and update the building information manual at least once per year.
  • Ensure adherence to all pertinent government regulations and business unit practices affecting this position
  • Be observant of potentially hazardous conditions and respond accordingly
  • Engage in best practices for energy and environmental conservation
  • Other duties as assigned
