THE ROLE:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Building Operator to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of building systems in a commercial, residential, and mixed-use facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for tenants and occupants.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
Conduct regular building inspections and perform preventative maintenance and general repairs
Respond promptly to tenant service requests and building alarms within alignment with policy
Maintain daily logs of building operations, inspections, and repairs
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for maintenance and repair work
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Monitor and manage energy consumption and building performance
Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and other exterior upkeep as needed
Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities
Support capital projects, renovations, and equipment upgrade as required
Maintain and responsible for the curb appeal of the property
Support other team members with shareable knowledge, recommendations and improvements
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification or technical diploma preferred
3+ years of experience in building operations or facility maintenance
4th or 5th Class Power Engineer Certification
Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and control systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
Availability to be on-call and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed
