THE ROLE Join Triovest as a Building Maintenance Technician in Toronto. The successful candidate will fill the full-time position of Building Maintenance for the Urban Infill Portfolio which includes Retail and Residential properties located throughout Toronto. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that the assigned portfolio is being managed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and to the highest level of operational efficiency. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all common area entrances, walkways and facilities, i.e. shoveling, window cleaning, vacuuming, graffiti removal, floor cleaning, waste removal.
  • Routinely inspecting the building and equipment to determine additional maintenance or repairs required and report such conditions to the Operations Supervisor.
  • Complete basic residential property maintenance repairs, i.e. sink, shower, breaker panel reset, light and lock changes, etc.
  • Perform assigned preventive maintenance duties for HVAC units i.e. filter change.
  • Perform maintenance tasks and oversee contracted property services to ensure an overall clean and safe property and grounds.
  • Use the Building Management Software System (Angus Anywhere), to respond to tenant request work orders and preventative maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
  • Conduct weekly inspections of all vacant units and report unusual conditions to the Operations Supervisor.
  • Assist with Property Access and tours.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment and make recommendations to Operations Supervisor.
  • Oversee contractor(s) to ensure third party work is performed correctly and as per contract or Purchase Order.
  • Complete meter readings.

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of related building operations experience.
  • Post-secondary education in related discipline (or working towards), e.g.: BES Certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience with completing basic residential and property repairs.
  • Experience working with and overseeing contractors is an asset.
  • The ability to troubleshoot to provide resolution recommendations.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Software, Angus Anywhere is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures (WHMIS, Lockout/tag out, fall protection and mold) would be helpful.
  • The ability to work all hours (including on-call) required to provide sufficient building coverage.
  • Must be physically capable of walking a significant amount (approximately 6-10 miles a day) between properties.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
