As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth.We are seeking a Building Envelop Student for our Toronto District, within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for 4 month or 8 months starting May 5th, 2025.Herexe2x80x99s how a Building Envelope Student in our Toronto office contributes to the team:ResponsibilitiesReviews design documents to identify potential building envelope performance issuesParticipates in the review of project submittalsParticipates in project meetings and first installation reviewsCompletes plant reviews, site reviews and/or deficiency walksAttends laboratory and field testingAssists with the development of remedial strategies for building envelope issues encountered by meeting with manufacturers, marking up details, and working collaboratively with the team membersPrepares site review reportsContributes to the preparation of internal quality documentsPromotes and coordinate building envelope events with external expertsMeets with product suppliers to evaluate and obtain information on building envelope materialsSupports developing building envelope training materialQualificationsCandidates must have taken a building envelope or building science course, and understand the fundamental control layers required within the building envelope (i.e. air, water, vapour and thermal control)Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment, able to read architectural drawings, and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.Next Step:xc2xb7 Please note that candidates who have been selected to move forward to the next stage of the recruitment process will receive an email to complete a short online video interviewPCL is an innovative, employee-owned company comprised of people who find passion in their profession and take pride in doing great work every day.
