As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Project Engineer, Building Envelope to take a leadership role on complex projects, mentor and support junior staff, and contribute to the ongoing success and development of the firm.

In this permanent full-time position, your role will be to assist the principals with your knowledge, experience, and autonomy as a Project Engineer, Building Envelope. You will work on new construction projects, assessment of existing buildings, and remediation projects. You will also independently manage projects, support mentorship and oversight of junior staff, and take a lead in securing new projects and clients.
Technical Competencies:
Prepare written scopes of work, specifications, and develop construction drawings to support repair and remediation projects.
Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and submittals to verify compliance with building envelope design intent; provide detailed markups using Bluebeam.
Carry out field reviews on construction sites to confirm building envelope performance and compliance with project requirements.
Assess existing buildings for envelope deficiencies, including conducting leak investigations and diagnostic testing as required.
Conduct assessments of existing building systems--including mechanical, electrical, structural, and landscaping--to support depreciation reports and property condition assessments.
Prepare clear, accurate, and well-structured reports to document findings and recommendations.
Project Management Responsibilities:
Lead and guide building science projects from start to finish, maintaining full ownership of project scope (work and service), delivering on schedule, staying within budget, and ensuring results that go beyond client expectations.
Drive and manage your project team to uphold both profitability and quality standards through direct oversite and mentorship opportunities.
Manage project financials by monitoring scope and budget, maintaining a clear understanding and tracking changes, preparing and reviewing monthly billing to ensure services accurately reflect progress, and communicating any changes internally and with clients to keep projects on track.
Participate in meetings with clients and project stakeholders such as stratas, property managers, homeowners, developers, architects, and consultant teams; prepare and deliver presentations as required.
Accommodate client and project needs through occasional travel or after-hours work, while maintaining a balance that respects team well-being.
Knowledge and experience administrating CCDC 2 construction contracts is required.

Fulfill the role of Engineer-of-Record (EOR) on assigned projects and work.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor of Engineering or Applied Science.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, active registration in good standing with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) required.
Master's degree an asset.
Experience Breakdown:
5-10 years of experience in building science/building envelope consulting.
5-10 years of experience in the field addressing site conditions and working with construction process.
3-5 years of remediation and repair project management experience including at least one project as EOR.
Bluebeam PDF; AutoCAD; Microsoft Office Suite software proficiency.
Swing stage, bosun chair, and boom lift experience or qualifications an asset.
Other Requirements:
A valid B.C. driver's license, with daily access to a reliable vehicle.
Must be comfortable and willing to work at heights including ladders, swing stages, boom lifts and scaffolding. Training and equipment will be provided when working from heights.
