JOB POSTING: Building Caretaker / Cleaner - UBC Area

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN BUILDING CLEANING AND BUILDING MANGEMENT

We are seeking a reliable and proactive

Building Caretaker/Cleaner

for a 100-unit, 6-storey residential building located in the UBC area. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean and well-run property while providing great service to residents.

Schedule:

Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

(30 hours per week)
Additional hours may be available for emergencies or special projects (paid as overtime).

$20 per hour

Sub-contractor:

$25 per hour

Primary Duties - General & Building Cleaning

Cleaning and sanitizing common areas (lobbies, hallways, elevators) Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting Cleaning stairwells and handrails Maintaining cleanliness of mailroom, amenity rooms, and shared spaces Garbage and recycling room upkeep Monitoring and replacing supplies (soap, paper products, etc.) Spot cleaning walls, windows, and glass doors Exterior litter pickup and seasonal outdoor tidying Reporting building concerns or maintenance issues promptly

Building Management Duties

Coordinating and communicating with trades and contractors Assisting with move-ins/move-outs (including elevator bookings) Parking patrols and ensuring compliance with building rules Responding to resident correspondence (emails and texts) Maintaining a calm, helpful, and professional presence Completing daily logs, checklists, and reports

Qualifications

Experience in building caretaking or cleaning preferred Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Able to work independently and manage time well Physically capable of lifting, bending, and performing cleaning tasks Reliable, punctual, and resident-focused
