Building Automation Systems (BAS

). This role requires in-depth knowledge of building automation, HVAC and mechanical systems, and will involve

programming

and

project management.

As a

BAS Specialist

, you will play a vital role in contributing to our

mission

of helping building owners achieve their environmental goals

.

Your responsibilities will include the design, programming, and commissioning of the BAS.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the on-site execution of building automation projects from programming through commissioning. Collaborate closely with the in-house install team and supervise subcontractors to ensure the completion of all project scope items. Reviewing mechanical and electrical drawings, BAS specifications, and sequences of operations to create or revise control drawings according to client or company standards. Identify and resolve discrepancies between design documentation and actual site conditions. Responsible for programming controllers and commissioning field and supervisory-level devices. Perform comprehensive system testing, including I/O verification and validation of sequences of operation. Support the design team by providing technical input throughout project development and execution. Manage and maintain project installation schedules and track critical milestones to ensure timely delivery. Participation in team meetings to communicate project progress and technical updates will also be required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, Building Automation, or a related field. Completion of building automation certifications or technical training programs--such as Niagara N4--is preferred. A minimum of four years of experience in BAS programming is required, with at least two years of hands-on field commissioning or project oversight. Candidates should be proficient in one or more major BAS platforms, including Johnson FX (Facility Explorer), Honeywell Building Automation, Carrier i-Vu, or Niagara N4 using Workbench. A strong understanding of HVAC systems, DDC control theory, and field device applications is essential. Experience performing system commissioning, sensor verification, and actuator testing is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to work effectively with internal teams and external contractors. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Visio for generating or editing control drawings, is expected. Familiarity with project scheduling, risk management, and cost tracking will be considered an asset. A valid G driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required for travel to job sites.

Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
