SEESA is a welcoming and inclusive facility. The building attendant maintains the cleanliness and functionality of SEESA, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This includes performing routine cleaning tasks, such as cleaning and restocking washrooms, emptying trash and recycling, providing front desk reception duties for rentals and events, and responding to any issues that may arise. The building attendant also serves as an onsite point of contact for building rentals, providing customer service and addressing any concerns or requests. Overall, the building attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of SEESA.
Responsibilities
Keeps the building clean.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs or vacuums floors.
Gathers and empty trash and recycle items.
Sets up and takes down of rooms for scheduled activities, events and rentals.
Assists with events and functions.
Is onsite liaison for building rentals.
Provides excellent customer service to rentals, events, and functions.
Operates vehicles required to perform work such as floor washing machine.
Provides function of Front Desk Attendant when one is not available.
Monitor building security and report any issues.
Unlock/lock and disarm/arm building as required.
Qualifications
Previous cleaning experience is an asset.
Knowledge in standard cleaning methods.
Ability to perform repetitive motion.
Ability to lift heavy objects and move furniture.
Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor cleaning machines, and cleaning solutions.
Knowledge of computers, till operations, and point of sale machines.
Knowledge in occupational health and safety.
Experience with Microsoft computer programs.
Qualities
Positive interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to deal with difficult situations.
Works well within a team; able to connect and contribute.
Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
Problem Solver, the ability to focus on options for solutions.
Time management skills: ability to efficiently establish a routine ensuring all maintenance are completed.
Understanding issues facing seniors is considered an asset.

Working Conditions and Requirements
This is an on-site position with varying hours and days.
Hours of work are primarily evenings and weekends.
Employee may at times, be working alone.
Heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds is required.
Ability to lift and move furniture, table and chairs is required.
Required within first three months:
First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
Criminal Record and Vulnerable Persons Sector Check
WHMIS Certificate of Training (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
