Shifts start at 5:30 AM. Stages

Basic Purpose:
To provide excellent service to customers by providing efficient set up, replenishment and tear down of Restaurant Breakfast and Lunch buffets
Major Responsibilities and Duties (to fulfill major purpose):
Provides value added service to customers by doing whatever reasonable and possible to meet or exceed customer expectations
Communicates effectively with customer, co-workers and supervisors
Demonstrates teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed
Handles difficult situations effectively
Meets superior service standards
Performs other duties as required to provide superior service and teamwork
Food Porters will have a keen awareness of the business peaks and valleys during the shift, staying well stocked and communicates as necessary to their fellow team members and supervisor
Takes pride in the buffet line, i.e. presentation and cleanliness
Maintains the buffet area free of spills an debris
Adheres to hotel policies and procedures
Attends work on time as scheduled
Follows hotel grooming and dress standards
Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position
Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate
At all times projects a favorable image of SilverBirch Hotels to the public
Working Conditions:
Walking, Standing, Lifting and Carrying chafing dishes
Mainly mornings / evenings /weekend work
Experience, Training and Education (demonstrating requirements):
Energetic and flexible, able to work under pressure
Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
Excellent communication skills
Previous customer service experience an asset
Self-motivated, creative, capable of working in a team environment
