For more information on the Office, please visit .Job SummaryAs the Budget, Finance and Operations Manager you play a pivotal role in the Office of the Auditor General, serving as a crucial figure by overseeing financial processes, actively engaging in operational improvement initiatives, and monitoring the execution of the strategic plan. You are responsible for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, supply chain and vendor management, facilities oversight, risk management, change management, and technology integration to enhance overall operational effectiveness. This role reports to the Deputy Auditor General and provides leadership and supervision to one Administrative Assistant.Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide financial and technical expertise to the Executive Leadership Team on strategic decisions.
  • Develop and update office policies and procedures related to financial management and reporting.
  • Monitor and report on the office budget and financial performance, making spending recommendations as needed.
  • Manage facilities, supply chain, and vendor relationships to ensure efficient operations.
  • Identify operational risks and develop strategies for mitigation, including business continuity planning.
  • Monitor the execution of the Office\'s strategic plan to ensure the initiatives and projects are on schedule and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate on technology integration to align solutions with operational needs.
  • Supervise and support one Administrative Assistant.
  • Prepare the annual performance report and business plan under the direct supervision of the Deputy Auditor General.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Internationally accredited accountants must be able to demonstrate that they are eligible to proceed directly to membership with the provincial CPA body for the region in which they live (e.g., fully exempt from CPA PEP)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and operations management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial analysis.
  • Experience in facilities management, supply chain management, and technology integration.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven experience in change management.
  • High level of integrity and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (i.e. Excel and Word)
Asset Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with SAP
  • Finance and operations management experience in a public sector or auditing environment
