Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists for a Bridge Engineer in Training to become part of our dynamic Transportation Engineering group in Alberta. This position will be full-time in-office or hybrid from one of our offices in Edmonton, Alberta.
Stantec's Transportation Team has a strong local presence but also participates in some of Stantec's largest and most complex transportation projects. These projects encompass the entire life of the transportation structure - from feasibility studies through detailed design and construction oversight. Your Key Responsibilities
Execution and delivery of projects including planning, preliminary design and detail design.
Completing structural analysis, design for a variety of transportation structures.
Preparing design details and reports for various bridge types and other transportation structures.
Regular collaboration with colleagues in our multi-disciplined design office.
Undertaking bridge, culvert and other structural inspections to assess condition.
Quantity calculations and cost estimates.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledge of relevant bridge design codes, particularly CHBDC.
Knowledge of MTO practice manuals, standards and policies Experience in structural routine inspections.
Working experience with structural modeling and design software such as SAP2000 or equivalent.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Enthusiastic attitude with interest in skills development and continual improvement.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering focusing on structural engineering, with preference for individuals with a Master's degree.
Registered or working toward Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.)
0-4 years of related work experience. Previous bridge-related work experience is an asset.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
