In the role of Bridge EIT, we'll count on you to: Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs
Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects
Periodically conduct field inspections for different types of railway or highway structures.
Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software and perform structural load calculations; and assist with geometric layout, specifications and quantity development.
Review, assign work and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs
Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents and cost estimates
Coordinate work with other disciplines including road, geotechnical, drainage and environmental planning
Carry out Construction Contract Administration Duties
Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in bridge design or construction experience, including MTO/Municipal and Railway structures or completed related structural engineering courses as part of the undergraduate degree program.
P. Eng. or in the process to obtain P.Eng., EIT is required
Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, LPile, Midas Civil, SAP2000, or LUSAS would be a plus
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
MS Office, MathCAD and AutoCAD, LARSA and Prestress Concrete Design experience
Knowledge of and some familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge
Knowledge of Bently OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
Strong understanding and hands-on use of computers for structural layout and design
Good communication skills and willing to work in a team environment
