Breakfast Cook/Baker

Falcon Camp Services is currently looking to fill a position of Breakfast Cook/Baker. This role is responsible for breakfast preparation with a focus on delivering a consistent, high quality of food product including baked goods. Working with the Chef, Camp Manager and Kitchen Staff to continually improve guest satisfaction while maintaining inventory and sanitation levels.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Review the daily production sheets and prepare the necessary food items in accordance to standards in a timely and efficient manner to ensure that there is no interruption to guest services.
• Prepare desserts and baked goods daily to accompany menu items.
• Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met.
• Ensure quality, presentation and timing of all breakfast items are met as assigned.
• Prepare high quality, nutritious meals according to scheduling and within the menu plan and budget guidelines.
• Capable of working long hours on your feet under minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate professional and welcoming attitude when working around guests.
• Keep work stations clean and organized including fridges/freezers, counter/stove tops.
• Ensure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard.
• Keep overproduction and food waste to a minimum; ensure proper rotation, labeling and storing of food in order to reduce food cost expense.
• Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely in accordance with HACCP and government Food Safety Guidelines.
• Report all deficiencies in kitchen equipment functionality and quality of food products to Chef in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Assure active participation in the camp health and safety program.
• Participate in Safety/Toolbox meetings and Hazard Identifications on a daily basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Certification

• Red Seal Certification or completion of college or other program in cooking preferred.
• 5+ year\xe2\x80\x99s food service experience cooking preferably in a large remote camp environment.
• Food Safe Level 2
• A strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
• Petroleum Safety Training or Construction Safety Training Systems.
• OFA Level 1 & WHIMIS is an asset.
