Brc Certification Implementation Lead– Storage & Distribution

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive individual to lead the full implementation and certification of BRCGS for Storage and Distribution at our warehouse in Mississauga, Ontario. This is a contract-based position focused solely on delivering BRC certification from start to finish, with full alignment to the systems already established at our Montreal location.

This role involves developing and implementing all documentation, procedures, training, and systems from scratch for a ~800 pallet position warehouse, and ensuring they are harmonized with the quality system and templates currently used in Montreal.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and execute full BRCGS Storage & Distribution certification for the Mississauga warehouse, including all documentation and training. Review current warehouse practices and build a complete BRC-compliant system from the ground up. Ensure all SOPs, records, logs, forms, and templates mirror the structure and standards used in Montreal, with approval from the Director of Quality. Identify all gaps between current operations and BRCGS requirements; build and execute an action plan to close those gaps. Establish and train local staff on food safety, hygiene, documentation practices, and audit readiness. Coordinate internal mock audits, implement corrective actions, and prepare for the external certification audit. Align implementation with the existing corporate quality program and work in collaboration with the Montreal-based Quality Team. Deliver a fully certified and audit-ready BRCGS-compliant site by the end of Q1 2026, including systems for future internal maintenance and surveillance audits.

Required Qualifications



Proven experience leading full BRCGS implementation and certification for Storage & Distribution (required). Deep knowledge of GFSI standards, warehouse operations, food safety systems, and documentation requirements. Strong understanding of BRC documentation and audit preparation. Experience aligning site-specific programs to a corporate quality system and working with shared templates and SOPs. Highly organized with strong project management and communication skills. Ability to work independently and take full ownership of project milestones. Fluent in English; French is a strong asset. Must be located in, or able to travel regularly to, Mississauga, ON.
