True Wild Distilling captures the untamed spirit of Alberta in every bottle and offers a rich
experience at our newly opened restaurant and premier event center. Located in a historic
power station turned state-of-the-art distillery, True Wild combines tradition and innovation
to craft exceptional whiskey and spirits. Our distillery produces incredible spirits including
our Breaker Box Dry Gin, Breaker Box Vodka, and our Roper's Hold Whisky Collective. Our
restaurant features local, sustainably sourced ingredients, offering a contemporary take on
regional cuisine. The event center, with its historical elegance and modern amenities,
serves as an ideal venue for weddings, corporate events, and celebrations.
About the Role:
The Brand Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the True Wild brands. As
the Brand Manager, you will oversee all brand touchpoints including digital, merchandise,
experiential, and product ensuring consistent branding throughout. This role is responsible
for developing and executing marketing campaigns, organic social, product launches,
sales materials, events, and supporting agency relationships. In addition to leading True
Wild's marketing strategies, the Brand Manager will work collaboratively with the CEO,
sales teams and restaurant leadership to amplify their efforts while ensuring excellent
customer service. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, have a passion
for storytelling, and be eager to roll up their sleeves and be hands on in execution to drive
significant growth for our brands. This role is active in driving distillery, restaurant and
events revenue. KPIs can include increases in bottle sales velocity, audience growth, and
events bookings.
This is a full-time in-person role based out of True Wild Distilling's head office in Calgary,
Alberta. Some availability on evenings and weekends will be required, on a case-by-case
basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand + Creative Leadership:
Lead and evolve True Wild's brand strategy, ensuring consistency across all
channels and consumer touchpoints.
Develop storytelling that reinforces the brand's identity as visionary pioneers.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to bring bold, innovative ideas
to life.
Campaigns, Content, + Digital:
Plan and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive awareness,
engagement, and sales.
Oversee digital marketing including social media, website updates, SEO, email
campaigns, and paid advertising.
Create and curate organic social content that grows and engages True Wild's
audience.
Events & Experiences:
Support and execute event marketing, product launches, festivals, and experiential
activations.
Represent True Wild as a brand ambassador at industry events and community
gatherings.
Partnerships & Community:
Build and nurture strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and community initiatives
across Calgary and Alberta.
Collaborate with sales and restaurant teams to align marketing efforts and support
local market needs.
Analytics & Reporting:
Use performance data and consumer insights to inform strategy, optimize
campaigns, and report on KPIs.
Manage the marketing budget across campaigns, content, and partnerships.
Qualifications:
3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in marketing, brand management, or
communications, ideally within CPG, beverage alcohol, hospitality, or lifestyle
brands.
Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and launch multi-channel marketing
campaigns from idea through delivery.
Strong working knowledge of digital marketing, including creating and publishing
social content, building email campaigns, updating websites, supporting SEO, and
managing paid media.
Excellent storytelling, copywriting, and content creation skills with a sharp eye for
brand consistency and detail.
Experience briefing, coordinating, and collaborating with external agencies,
designers, or freelancers, while remaining closely involved in execution.
Comfortable being the face of the brand at events, festivals, and industry
engagements.
Data-informed marketer with the ability to review performance metrics and adjust
tactics to improve results.
Highly organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple projects,
shifting priorities, and tight timelines.
Entrepreneurial, scrappy, and eager to roll up your sleeves and get the work done.
Experience working within AGLC regulations (or similar regulated industries) is an
asset but not required.
Proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp,
Canva, Later or similar marketing platforms.
