We have an opportunity for a Branch Supervisor Thunder Bay Ontario.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Branch Supervisor will oversee daily branch activities and is accountable for the sales, production and operations of the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates daily customer orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Works with other departments/areas to ensure customer order delivery meets expectations.
Listens to, clarifies and resolves customer complaints. Identifies practical cost-effective solutions for the customer regarding products and deliveries.
Prepares sales orders, invoices, refunds and credits; in a timely manner, ensuring accurate information of product for our customers.
Receives sales payments; issues credit applications and credit card authorization forms to ensure proper payment is received.
Provides monthly, weekly and ad hoc reports on branch activities.
Monitors and oversees outgoing and incoming shipping activities; verify products are shipped correctly and meet quality standards, correctly posted weights, correct charges applied and resolves issues with shipping orders.
Inquires about freight rates. Determines the best fit based on customer needs and allowable budget.
Ensures all proper documentation for shipments is completed and accurate.
Prepares calculated lists in balanced bundling and weights on diagrams to ensure loads comply with provincial trucking laws and standards.
Conducts regular inventory reconciliations to ensure adequate supplies to meet production demand.
Receives and records payments. Makes bank deposits. Picks up mail from post office on a daily basis. Codes Accounts Payables, invoices and mails to Head Office.
Ensures credit and collections management is in accordance with Corporate Credit standards, policies and practices (e.g., new customer credit applications).
Makes consultative sales and marketing in-person and telephone calls on all Company accounts; including supportive and non-supportive customers, related to the industry. Builds the customer relationship by quickly establishing trust, credibility, integrity, and comfort; and by demonstrating dignity and respect. Positively relates to and responds to customer challenges and objections.
Secures and develops new accounts through networks and market interaction within established territory. Makes cold and networking calls, and presentations with potential customers.
Requirements
Grade 12 high school, GED or mature student diploma. Post secondary education from and accredited institution is a definite asset. Combinations of education and experience will be considered.
One to three years of supervisory experience
Effective customer service, communication and interpersonal skills to our customers in a positive, friendly, outgoing and professional manner at all times.
Basis accounting principles.
Knowledge of measurements and weights for shipping purposes.
Knowledge of metric and imperial measurements.
Culvert and/or steel product manufacturing knowledge is an asset.
Basic knowledge of reading drawings a definite asset.
Knowledge and understanding of industry specifics and standards.
Intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g. excel, word, MS outlook, internet).
