To help lead the charge, we're looking for a senior-level Customs Compliance Officer to play a foundational role in our next growth phase.
Who We Are Looking For:
We're seeking a seasoned customs professional with at least
8 years
of industry experience and
CCS certification
. This is a
management-level role
, ideal for someone who thrives in a hybrid environment, understands the importance of compliance, and wants to contribute meaningfully to building our Vancouver presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with CBSA, CFIA, and other government departments on regulatory matters
Conduct periodic reviews of client compliance requirements and provide strategic advice
Attend CBSA seminars and stay up to date on the latest legislation and compliance programs
Oversee HS Tariff Classifications and ensure accurate tariff treatment with the team
Assist with Rulings, Refunds, Remissions, and Drawbacks (training provided)
Respond to client inquiries and represent them before government bodies
Review and verify commercial documents (invoices, B/Ls, POs) for accuracy and compliance
Monitor carrier clearances and resolve any non-clearance issues
Prepare manual and EDI release requests across all modes of transport
Ensure all customs documentation is complete and compliant with regulations
Support timely invoicing and reconcile CARM Daily Accounting files
Reduce unallocated payments and assist with A/R issue resolution
Coordinate collection of Trade Certificates for duty reduction purposes
Prepare e-manifests and export declarations in line with SOP and CBSA standards
Handle customs entries for meat shipments with confidence and care
What You Bring:
CCS Certification
- mandatory
8+ years
of customs and brokerage experience
In-depth knowledge of Canadian customs laws, tariffs, and trade regulations
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a client-first mindset
Experience working with meat shipments (preferred)
Ability to work independently while supporting a national team
