Job Overview
Reporting to the Vice-President, as the
Branch Manager, Star Truss
you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the division, including all Truss and EWP sales, designs and production for the Branch. You also develop and implement overall strategies to enhance production productivity and operational excellence while controlling operational costs.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Managing daily operations of the division. Preparing and monitoring annual budgets. Analyzing market trends and providing recommendations for growth opportunities.
Developing and implementing overall strategies for production, design and estimating, inventory management, employee management and staffing to enhance operational efficiency.
Providing guidance to, and act as the primary contact for the Design Manager and Operations Manager for all customer, employee, production, design and estimating related issues.
Leading, developing and providing guidance to Truss Design team members. Ensuring staff adhere to the established standards for customer service and operational excellence.
+ Overseeing the initial consultations and drafts through to completed designs for various structural roof truss and floor systems. Managing production efficiencies and ensuring sufficient inventory levels to meet demand.
Ensuring proper staffing and equipment levels for all areas of the business unit within the budget guidelines.
Acting as the primary contact for all issues relating to production, design and estimating issues.
Maintaining market awareness for commodity pricing to ensure competitive inventory positions and local conditions for sales and pricing strategies.

Essential Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory role related to Structural roof truss and floor systems.
Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlooks, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and MiTek software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience designing floor and roof trusses, and engineered wood products such as joists, LVL beams and LVL wall framing is preferred.
Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology, Structural Engineering, Building Design Technology, or equivalent.

Work Conditions
You primarily work in both manufacturing plant and office settings during regular business hours. Travel to sites and overtime may be required.
