Join the City of Edmonton's Legal Services team as our Branch Administrative Assistant. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will use your in-depth administrative expertise to effectively support the City Solicitor and the Legal Services Branch Manager's Office. Key responsibilities include actioning high-priority requests and proactively supporting senior leadership - requiring agility, discretion and significant attention to detail.

What will you do?
Act as the main administrative point of contact to ensure all inquiries and Council reports are reviewed and approved in a timely manner
Anticipate executive-level administrative needs and provide timely solutions
Proactively manage the Branch Manager/City Solicitor's calendar and related briefing materials
Draft and edit documents to support day-to-day operations, including agendas, reports, memos, letters and other correspondence
Engage the Legal, Insurance and Claims, and Corporate Security sections on a wide variety of requests
Coordinate requests for information under the Access to Information Act* Understand and recognize politically sensitive and/or confidential issues
Undertake projects and special assignments assigned by the Branch Manager/City Solicitor or the Branch Leadership Team
Qualifications
:Completion of Grade twelve (12), including business subjects, or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved post-secondary institution
Additional related education and training is strongly preferred (e.g., Legal Assistant or Paralegal diploma)
Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible and diverse administrative experience supporting senior management in a fast-paced setting
Assets:
Advanced computer skills, including the ability to use a variety of office software; proficiency with the Google suite of applications

Knowledge of Access to Information legislation and ability to process ATI requests

Hire is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (CRC) security clearance that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton and is a requirement of this position. There may be a cost associated with this requirement
