The machine shop team comprises CNC machinists, operators, programmers, skilled metal workers and material handlers performing laser, punch and form. Machine shop is a key component of our high-tech manufacturing environment designed with lean assembly principals throughout, featuring, PCB/SMT placement, CNC wood routers, powder/wet spray coating, pressing and assembly operations.

We are looking for a highly skilled

Brake Press Set-up Operator

to join our manufacturing team. As a Brake Press Set-up Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend, form, stretch, and straighten metal plates and sheet metal. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality parts and components according to specifications.

Responsibilities:



Operates a press brake to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates. Prepares, sets up, and adjusts press brake as required by product plans and production schedules. Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available. Measures and aligns materials to be used. Inspects products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications. Performs routine maintenance on the press brake. Maintains a clean work area. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:



Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate press brake controls. Ability to follow instructions. Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans. Good computer and math skills.

Education and Experience:



High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 3-5 years of experience in setting up and operating a brake press. Working knowledge of Ermakson brake press is an asset. Experience working in metal fabrication or related work preferred.

Physical Requirements:



Physically able to operate the press brake. Capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
