Responsibilities
Set up brake press machinery by loading appropriate tooling, selecting and installing the correct dies, and adjusting the machine settings according to job specifications
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, or work order to determine the required bend angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
Position metal workpieces onto the machine bed and align them with the brake press tool using measuring instruments, such as callipers, rulers and gauges.
Monitor machine operation, inspect finished parts for quality defects, and make necessary adjustments to maintain product specifications.
Preform general cleaning tasks and daily inspections to ensure longevity of the brake press machine.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Maintain accurate production records, including job setups, material usage, and output quantities.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production efficiency and meet productions and deadlines.
Take inventory by checking stock to determine the amount available and anticipated stock.
Other related duties as assigned.
Experience
Previous experience as a Brake Press Operator is required.
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, or work orders.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements and adjustments.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Basic computer skills for recording production data and accessing work instructions.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing environment.
