Boom Truck Operator

Black Creek Metal Inc., a leading custom metal fabrication company with over 60 skilled trades professionals, is seeking a Boom Truck Operator to join our team. Key Responsibilities

Safely operate 8-ton and 15-ton Broderson cranes, as well as 30- and 45-ton boom truck cranes, to lift, transport, and position materials Operate spider cranes, telehandlers, forklifts, skid steers. Deliver materials, secure loads, and assist with offloading. Perform rigging, load calculations, and ensure proper securing of loads (tarping, strapping). Complete daily pre- and post-operation inspections; maintain accurate logs and paperwork per MTO regulations. Maintain accurate hours of service and vehicle inspection logs in accordance with MTO regulations, and all related delivery paperwork. Perform greasing, fluid checks, and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Ensure safe and timely deliveries and pick-ups of materials. Constantly monitor vehicle fitness, load security, and ever-changing conditions. Identify, report, correct hazards and prioritize safety and be prepared to adapt to changing conditions and challenges Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment. Team player and display professionalism toward our company and customers. Work as part of a team collaborating with others onsite to coordinate crane activities within the overall project. Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and maintain a clean working environment. Travel to various job sites, primarily in the Niagara Region, but occasionally in other areas of Southern Ontario. Adhere to all health and safety standards, using appropriate PPE. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Valid AZ or DZ license (AZ preferred) with clean driver's abstract. 1+ year AZ / DZ driving experience. 0-15 Ton Hoisting Ticket is required. 3-5 years' experience operating mobile cranes 339A (Red Seal Mobile Crane Operator License) is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills & Competencies:

Knowledgeable and respectful of the Highway Traffic Act and municipality by laws. Familiar with safety regulations and industry standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, including the ability to take direction from supervisors. Ability to manage changing job conditions and client needs. Dependable, adaptable, and capable of problem-solving under pressure. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. Experience with other types of heavy equipment is an asset.

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
