Job Description


Our client is on a quest to find their new Full Charge Bookkeeper/Office Manager. The Bookkeeper will control payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, and full cycle A/P. At times, the Full Charge Bookkeeper might also be asked to oversee the clerical staff. We are looking for an accounting professional who is able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision and is self-driven and organized. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Toronto, Ontario area.

Your responsibilities in this role

- Familiar with Accounts Receivable

- Govern monthly accounting close

- Clarify business license and gross receipts

- Organize sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments

- Competent in credit card management and reconciliation

- Look after Accounts Payable

- More tasks as requested

- Register budget transfers

- Ready subcontractor 1099\'s, and any other IRS year-end requirement

- Ready monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

- Produce cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

- Formulate cash flow projections, as needed

- Detailed and have the ability work independently

-A minimum of 2 years experience using Jonas Software is a must

- Relevant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

- Proven analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- 3+ years of related experience- Basic Bookkeeping experience

- Practical knowledge of Accounting cycle

- Experience with Microsoft Excel

- General familiarity with Accounting Control

- Well-founded grasp of Receptionist Duties

- Proven knowledge of Administrative Assistance

- Proficiency in full charge bookkeeping

- Foundational knowledge in Excel Formulas

- Solid understanding of bookkeeping

- Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred

- Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
