We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper/Office Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and providing accurate financial reporting. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
The successful candidate will be required to complete and submit a Criminal Record Check.
Duties
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely and accurate billing and payments.
Perform account analysis and reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
Utilize accounting software such as Sage for daily transactions and reporting.
Prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including shop, office and field personnel.
Generate financial statements and reports for management review.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Government remittances - WSIB/HST.
Balancing and posting union fees.
Manage calendars.
Assisting administrative team as required.
Skills
Proficiency in accounting software including Sage is required.
Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, account reconciliation, and account analysis.
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines with superior attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to interact with various departments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
Knowledge of industry terms, materials and processes is an asset.
Proven experience as an bookkeeper in the construction/manufacturing industry is an asset.
