We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role combines essential bookkeeping responsibilities with administrative support, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial and office functions. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and possess a strong foundation in accounting principles and software. You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and supporting daily administrative tasks to help our organization thrive.

Responsibilities



Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure financial accuracy. Record journal entries, process accounts payable and receivable, and handle invoice management efficiently. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify financial data integrity. Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Maintain accurate records of debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger transactions following GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Support governmental and non-profit accounting functions, including fund tracking and compliance reporting. Prepare detailed financial reports and assist in budgeting processes for various departments or projects. Handle administrative duties such as managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, maintaining filing systems, and supporting office operations. Perform 10 key typing tasks for data entry accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and streamline workflows. Assist with special projects related to financial analysis or organizational growth initiatives.

Skills



Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and governmental accounting practices. Experience with account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting. Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, accounts payable & receivable management. Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience related to payroll taxes or filings is a plus. Ability to interpret financial concepts clearly and communicate findings effectively through financial report writing. Technical skills in financial software applications along with excellent attention to detail for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks. Competency in budgeting processes and financial planning support. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
