Responsibilities



Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Prepare, review, and process journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger entries in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections. Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to verify financial accuracy. Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings to ensure compliance with governmental regulations. Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and preparing financial reports that highlight key insights. Perform bookkeeping tasks including double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits management, and general ledger accounting. Compile detailed financial reports and summaries to aid management decision-making. Handle account analysis and account reconciliation activities to maintain precise financial data. Support governmental accounting requirements by preparing necessary documentation for audits or compliance reviews. Maintain organized records of all financial transactions, supporting audit readiness at all times. Utilize technical accounting knowledge to assist in complex financial tasks such as account analysis or special projects. Provide administrative support including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and handling general office duties. Perform 10-key typing tasks efficiently for data entry purposes.

Experience


Candidates should bring a strong foundation in accounting principles with hands-on experience using various accounting software including QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero or similar systems. Prior experience in corporate or non-profit accounting environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with public accounting practices or governmental accounting standards will be considered a plus. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, payroll processing, and tax experience related to finance operations. Knowledge of GAAP standards combined with technical skills in account analysis and budgeting will set candidates apart. A background in bookkeeping--specifically double-entry bookkeeping--and a solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits is essential. Strong organizational skills including 10-key typing speed are required to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
