POSITION SUMMARY:



Northeastern Public Health (NEPH) is seeking a qualified and experienced bookkeeper to perform accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Procurement. Responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting the AP function by preparing, verifying, processing and, payment of invoices and expense reimbursements; reconciling vendor statements and responding to vendor inquiries. The AR functions include preparing invoicing, recording payment receipts, and preparing bank deposits. Payroll responsibilities will include assisting in preparing and processing the biweekly payroll, administering all employee benefit and pension enrolment, changes, and terminations, and assisting with annual payroll-related reporting requirements. Procurement responsibilities include ensuring conformance of procurement activity with the organization's Procurement Policy, reviewing purchasing requisitions received for the purpose of ensuring completeness and accuracy prior to processing requisition into a purchase order; ensuring that purchases of goods and services are charged to proper program budgets and follow up on inquiries and resolve issues regarding purchasing. The position will support other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Post-secondary Diploma in Accounting and/or Business Administration or equivalent training is required;

Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and business practices;

Previous experience in payroll, benefits and pension processes will be an asset;

Previous experience in procurement and supply chain management will be an asset;

Demonstrated ability to prioritize workflow and meet conflicting deadlines;

Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Sage AccPac is an asset;

Knowledge and understanding of compliance requirements for relevant guidelines, legislation, and collective agreements;

Ability to work independently and use good judgement;

Keen attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy;

Proven organizational and time management skills;

Good written and verbal communication skills;

Strong interpersonal skills;

Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise tact and discretion;

Willingness to work flexible hours;

Fluency in both official languages will be considered an asset;

Satisfactory criminal background check;

Required to comply with Immunization policies, including COVID-19 vaccination, unless a valid medical exemption is provided.

Sante publique du Nord-Est (SPNE) est a la recherche d'un(e) aide-comptable qualifie(e) et experimente(e) pour assurer les fonctions comptables, y compris les comptes clients, les comptes fournisseurs, la paie et l'approvisionnement. Les responsabilites comprennent, sans s'y limiter, le soutien a la fonction AP par la preparation, la verification, le traitement et le paiement des factures et des remboursements de frais ; le rapprochement des releves des fournisseurs et la reponse aux demandes de renseignements des fournisseurs. Les fonctions AR comprennent la ppreparation de la facturation, l'enregistrement des recus de paiement et la preparation des depots bancaires. Les responsabilites en matiere de paie comprennent l'aide a la preparation et au traitement de la paie toutes les deux semaines, l'administration de toutes les inscriptions, modifications et cessations d'activite liees aux avantages sociaux et aux pensions des employes, ainsi que l'aide a l'etablissement des rapports annuels lies a la paie. Les responsabilites en matiere d'achats consistent a veiller a la conformite des activites d'achat avec la politique d'achat de l'organisation, a examiner les demandes d'achat recues afin de s'assurer qu'elles sont completes et exactes avant de les transformer en commandes, a veiller a ce que les achats de biens et de services soient imputes aux budgets des programmes appropries et a assurer le suivi des demandes de renseignements et la resolution des problemes concernant les achats. Le titulaire du poste s'acquittera d'autres taches qui lui seront confiees.

Titres et qualites :



Un diplome post-secondaire en comptabilite et/ou en administration des affaires ou une formation equivalente est requis ;

Connaissance pratique des principes comptables generalement admis et des pratiques commerciales ;

Une experience anterieure dans le domaine de la paie, des avantages sociaux et des processus de pension sera un atout ;

Une experience anterieure en matiere de gestion des achats et de la chaine d'approvisionnement sera un atout ;

Capacite demontree a etablir des priorites dans le flux de travail et a respecter des delais contradictoires ;

Une connaissance pratique et une experience de Microsoft Office Suite et de Sage AccPac sont un atout ;

Connaissance et comprehension des exigences de conformite aux lignes directrices, a la legislation et aux conventions collectives applicables ;

Capacite a travailler de maniere independante et a faire preuve de bon discernement ;

Souci du detail et grande precision ;

Competences eprouvees en matiere d'organisation et de gestion du temps ;

Bonnes aptitudes a la communication ecrite et orale ;

Solides competences interpersonnelles ;

Capacite a preserver la confidentialite, a faire preuve de tact et de discretion ;

Volonte de travailler selon des horaires flexibles ;

La maitrise des deux langues officielles sera consideree comme un atout ;

Verification satisfaisante des antecedents criminels;

Adherer a toutes les pratiques en matiere de prevention et de controle des infections, y compris la vaccination contre la COVID-19, a moins qu'une exemption medicale valide ne soit fournie.
