Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards with Law Society of BC. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our organization by providing timely and accurate financial information.

Responsibilities



Meet BC Law society rules under section 3-72(1)(a), i.e., A lawyer must record each trust or general transaction promptly, and in any event not more than (a) 7 days after a trust transaction, or (b) 30 days after a general transaction. Maintain all trust and clients' ledgers to meet BC Law Society rules as described in sections 3-73(1) & (2). Maintaining an AP ledger to be in control of disbursements and expenses and to recover disbursement, such as BC Online, LTSA, and Dye & Durham expenses, etc. Handle monthly bookkeeping tasks, managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets schedule, and general ledger. Gain a clear picture of your business's financial health Dealing with intricate tax obligations like income tax, GST/PST, and payroll taxes Handle the reconciliation of remittances against payroll deductions to meet statutory requirements. e-file T4s and T5s electronically, ensuring proper compliance. Stay compliant with CRA regulations for GST, PST, and WCB filings. Ensure seamless payroll processing with our bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll services for employees and owner management. Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes. Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statements. Prepare monthly financial reports, including account analysis and budgeting. Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for various bookkeeping tasks. Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and reports. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting. Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years' experience working independently with all aspects of full cycle trust accounting and must be conversant with CLIO software.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role. Proficiency in accounting software including CLIO Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Experience with budgeting, accounts receivable, account analysis, bank reconciliation, and payroll processing. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39,654.67-$69,599.63 per year
