We are the provincial headquarters office for Legion branches across British Columbia and the Yukon, located in Cloverdale, BC. We are looking for someone who is organized, with strong communication skills and an interest in non-profit accounting to join our team. Responsibilities
Maintain financial records using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Manage both digital and physical file systems promptly and effectively
Process weekly payments to vendors
Process purchase orders, prepare sales invoices and ensure inventory levels are maintained at prescribed levels
Follow up on past-due sales invoices on a monthly basis, and resolve any discrepancy or disputes in payments.
Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, and maintain general ledgers
Full cycle accounts receivable and payable
Assist in preparation of working papers and supply samples for year-end audit
Prepare various statistical, financial and accounting reports on a quarterly basis and as needed
Prepare bank reconciliation, fixed asset amortization, prepaid expenses working papers monthly
Perform monthly reconciliation of inter-fund and inter-organization accounts.
Inventory counts and reconciliation as required
Perform other tasks as required by the Controller.
Job Requirements
One to three years' previous experience in a bookkeeping position
Great organizational skills
Proficiency in accounting bookkeeping software and MS Office Suite, in particular Microsoft Excel
Strong people/communication skills
A good command of the English language
