Job Responsibilities:



Bookkeeping

Maintain books of account (including but not limited to preparing checks, coding and posting invoices, preparing deposits, journal entries, reconciliations, petty cash) Tracking commissions from various vendors and allocating them to the correct advisor Oversee issuing of checks/payment of invoices Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements for advisors Liaise with staff and support them in bookkeeping needs related to their program areas Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any audits or independent reviews Complete monthly reconciliation for all accounts (bank and brokerage accounts) Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and impacts on the organization's books of account Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities Assist clients with their bookkeeping needs and offer consulting/support

Payroll

Complete all payroll functions: process monthly payroll, submit remittances, process ROE's, generate T4's, etc. Coordinate with HR to maintain employee records and ensure employee data is correct and accurate Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees Assist clients with payroll questions and inquiries and offer consulting/support

Other tasks as assigned. Being a small company, there may be tasks outside of your role and the team works together to the same goal.



Requirements:



Post secondary education in a related field Minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience with solid Canadian payroll knowledge Full-Cycle payroll knowledge QuickBooks online and Ceridian experience is a strong asset Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills Well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen Outstanding data entry skills Understanding of federal and provincial payroll regulations and requirements General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment Excellent attention to detail and takes ownership of their work Customer Service oriented Ability to manage changing priorities Strong organizational and time-management skills

Ability to manage competing demands and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent follow-up and organizational skills, ensuring tasks are completed thoroughly and accurately.

Details:

Full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week), in office (no remote)
