St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, 3 St. Vital Rd., is seeking a Bookkeeper/ Donation Secretary
Job details
Part?time permanent position (3-4 hours per week), some remote work possible.
$25-28/hour, dependent on experience.
Financial record keeping and accounting, accounts payable and receivable, cheque preparation and distribution together with parish administrator and treasurer.
Preparation of GST and charitable returns as well as monthly financial reports for parish leadership, and annual reports for the AGM and Diocese
Set up and update parish records on Servant Keeper (Parish record software)
Management of donation records and preparation of tax receipts
Maintain and archive financial records
Requirements
3-5 years experience working with financial records
A gracious manner in dealing with parishioners - the ability to communicate with compassion, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to problem solve and work independently
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record keeping
Proficiency in spread sheet and database systems (using Office). Familiarity with or ability to learn church record system Servant Keeper.
Ability to work as part of a team in a faith-based setting.
Criminal Record Check required prior to signing of contract; cost to be covered by the parish.
