On behalf of our client we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to manage our company's financial records. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial data, ensuring timely processing of transactions, and supporting overall accounting functions. Duties
Maintain books of account (including but not limited to preparing checks, coding and posting invoices, preparing deposits, journal entries, reconciliations, petty cash)
Oversee issuing of checks/payment of invoices
Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements
Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable
Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any audits or independent reviews
Complete monthly reconciliation for all accounts
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and impacts on the organization's books of account
Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities
Complete all payroll functions: process monthly payroll, submit remittances, process ROE's, generate T4's, etc.
Maintain employee records and ensure employee data is correct and accurate
Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees
Skills
Post secondary education in a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience with solid Canadian payroll knowledge
Full-Cycle payroll knowledge
Sage or QuickBooks experience is a strong asset
Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Outstanding data entry skills
Understanding of federal and provincial payroll regulations and requirements
General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment
Excellent attention to detail and takes ownership of their work
Strong organizational and time-management skills
