We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. Duties
Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
Perform bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis to ensure data integrity
Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, and process accounts payable and receivable transactions
Assist with balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting tasks in accordance with GAAP standards
Support budgeting processes and financial report writing to provide insights into organizational finances
Handle payroll processing and tax-related accounting activities as needed
Ensure compliance with governmental accounting regulations and standards
Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data
Maintain thorough documentation of all bookkeeping activities for audit purposes
Requirements
Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, GAAP, debits & credits, and journal entries
Experience with governmental accounting, nonprofit accounting, or public accounting is a plus
Knowledge of account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing
Familiarity with financial report writing, budgeting, and technical accounting practices
Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate financial records
Strong analytical skills for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities effectively
