Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with experience in both corporate and non-profit accounting environments. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software, including QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero, as well as a solid grasp of GAAP standards. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring timely financial reporting.

Duties



Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software QuickBooks Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payment and collection. Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial statements. Prepare financial reports that summarize the organization's financial position in areas such as revenue, expenses, and cash flow. Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations. Support budgeting processes by providing relevant financial data and analysis. Analyze accounts for discrepancies or issues and provide recommendations for resolution. Stay updated on financial concepts and changes in accounting regulations to ensure compliance.

Experience



Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with a strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles. Familiarity with public accounting practices is preferred; experience in governmental accounting is a plus. Proficient in using financial software for bookkeeping tasks; knowledge of GAAP is essential. Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis effectively. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Experience in preparing financial reports and conducting budgeting activities.
