Provide general office administrative support to the Finance Manager, including filing, data entry, organizing documents, and responding to routine finance-related inquiries
Process and record all accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner
Prepare and issue invoices to clients or funders and post vendor invoices for payment
Maintain up-to-date vendor files and records
Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
Maintain payroll records as needed
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor statements monthly
Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including generating final financial reports
Prepare statements for each receivable and maintain accurate ageing reports
Assist in the preparation of tax remittances, workers' compensation filings, and tax returns
Provide support for annual audits and year-end financial preparation
Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiently for all bookkeeping and reporting tasks
Ensure data is accurate, secure, and maintained according to organizational policies
Qualifications and Experience:
College diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field
Minimum of 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a non-profit organization
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
Knowledge of fund accounting and government funding reporting requirements is an asset
Understanding of and respect for Indigenous culture, values, and community-based approaches to service delivery
