Position Summary:



The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for multiple clients, preparing month-end reports, year-end compilation engagements, and tax returns. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational efficiency, the ability to manage multiple client files in a deadline-driven environment and strong understanding of accounting standards and tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities



Record and reconcile client transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Prepare and maintain general ledgers, journals, and trial balances. Prepare HST/GST tax remittances and filings. Process client payrolls accurately and on time, including year end reconciliations and filings Preparation of financial statements, working papers, and supporting documentation for year-end compilation engagements. Prepare personal (T1), corporate (T2), and trust (T3) income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to CRA guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience



Minimum of 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience in a public accounting firm Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related discipline is considered an asset. Proficiency in QuickBooks and solid working knowledge of Excel. Familiarity with CaseWare and Taxcycle considered an asset. Strong understanding of accounting principles and Canadian tax compliance. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management. Strong communication and client service orientation.

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
