Job Summary:
The
Bookkeeper
is responsible for performing Accounts Receivable tasks and Accounts Payable tasks which include:
Invoicing and collections on overdue accounts
Credit card processing
Maintain financial records through defined bookkeeping policies, procedures, and accepted accounting principles
Perform banking activities
May in the future be responsible for payroll
Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and credit card statements
Preparing and reconcile government remittances
Processing invoices and payments to vendors, correctly coding invoices to general ledger accounts and maintaining documentation
Preparation of cheques, bill payments, and wires for payment-runs
Support of year-end filing and journal entries
Maintaining financial transaction records by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and ensuring legal compliance
A minimum of 5+ years of experience is required as well as a degree or diploma in Accounting or a related field.
Desired Skills
5+ years accounting experience (A/R & A/P) and a diploma/certificate in accounting
Experience with accounting software (Sage BusinessVision an asset)

Job Details
Full-Time (37.5 hours a week), the office is open Monday through Friday (No weekends, no overtime requirements) between 8:00am and 4:00pm.
Office Environment
Closed over the winter holidays with a short summer break between Canada Day and American Independence Day.
