Overview


The Boat Warehouse

is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented

Bookkeeper

to manage payroll and accounting processes using

QuickBooks Online

. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and Canadian bookkeeping practices, including handling multi-currency transactions and various tax requirements. Experience with

Ceridian payroll systems

is essential.

This role is well-suited for someone who is

proficient

in various accounting software programs, highly

organized

,

accurate

, and comfortable working with office technology such as scanners, printers, and other devices in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. A thorough understanding of financial concepts, including

GAAP

, is required, along with the ability to manage multiple accounts with precision.

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial reports to support effective decision-making.

Responsibilities



Maintain and update financial records using

QuickBooks Online

, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Manage daily and weekly bookkeeping tasks, including

general ledger accounting

, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

Process payroll

accurately and efficiently using

Ceridian

, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and deadlines. Manage

accounts payable

and

accounts receivable

to ensure timely payments and collections.

Reconcile

bank accounts, credit cards, balance sheets, and other financial accounts to maintain accurate financial statements. Record and monitor transactions in

CAD, USD, and EURO

, maintaining proper documentation for multi-currency transactions.

Prepare and file

HST returns, Luxury Tax reports, and other required financial filings. Assist with

month-end and year-end closing procedures

, budgeting, and forecasting. Analyze accounts for discrepancies, perform account analysis, and identify trends or issues. Generate

financial reports

and provide insights to management to support decision-making. Ensure

compliance

with GAAP, federal and provincial tax regulations, and other relevant accounting standards. Collaborate with management, team members, and external accountants on technical accounting matters and process improvements. Use office equipment such as

scanners, printers, and other peripherals

to manage and organize financial documents.

Experience



Minimum

3 years of experience

in bookkeeping or accounting roles with a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and Canadian accounting standards. Proficient in

QuickBooks Online

and

Ceridian payroll processing

. Strong knowledge of

multi-currency accounting

, including transactions in CAD, USD, and EURO. Experience with

HST, payroll remittances, Luxury Tax

, and corporate accounting. Skilled in

bank reconciliation

processes and accurate

10-key data entry

. Proficient in

Microsoft Excel and Word

, with familiarity using

scanners, printers, and other office equipment

. Strong

analytical and problem-solving skills

with the ability to interpret financial data and generate clear, insightful reports. Exceptional

attention to detail

organizational skills

, and accuracy in all financial transactions. Ability to work

independently

within a team environment. Excellent

abilities. Familiarity working with

multiple branches
