We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and experience with various accounting software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the financial health of our organization. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, and performing reconciliations.
Duties
Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or Xero, ADP, Microsoft Excel for multiple locations
Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliation
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation
Prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP standards
Assist with payroll processing and tax-related tasks
Analyze financial data to support budgeting and forecasting efforts
Ensure compliance with governmental and non-profit accounting regulations as applicable
Utilize 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry
Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and reporting
Qualifications
Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, etc) is highly desirable
Strong understanding of financial concepts, double-entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting principles
Familiarity with corporate accounting practices as well as non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to analyze accounts and prepare comprehensive financial reports
Knowledge of account analysis, budgeting, debits & credits, bank reconciliation, and payroll processing
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders
