As a Medical Radiation Technologist/Combined Laboratory & X-Ray Technologist at Insight, you
will be working as part of a team that prides itself on providing precise high quality radiological examinations. You will be expected to work with minimal supervision and direction, which means you will need to be a self-starter and confident in your imaging.
As the Bone Density Coordinator you will be responsible for educating, coordinating and providing consistency in all aspects of the bone densitometry service line, ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient workflow management, and compliance with regulatory standards. This position serves as the primary point of contact for bone density.
Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Prepares and performs a variety of standardized and/or complex procedures as set forth by the Radiologists and our referring Physicians.
Responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of all equipment.
DI Equipment: Must have working knowledge of all equipment and ensure all units are functioning correctly.
Responsible for maintaining safety and the general care and cleanliness of the radiographic area, with particular attention to radiation safety and infection control.
Knowledge of computer systems and all DI office duties.
Assist in the training of new staff and students, as requested by MGM.
Maintains quality control in performance of all procedures.
Willingness to cross train in Fluoroscopy and ECG's.
Performs other duties as required
In addition to the duties and responsibilities of an MRT/CLXT technologist this position will be responsible for:Coordinate and review bone density examination templates, ensuring optimal utilization of equipment and staff resources while maintaining accurate documentation of all examinations, including proper positioning and technical factors in accordance with accreditation requirements
Lead quality control initiatives by assisting radiologists in monitoring bone density studies, tracking precision studies, and working with Aymes and Kalio Medical to implement LSC values across clinics
Develop and maintain quality assurance programs, including staff competency assessments, new employee training, and ongoing support for technologists requiring additional guidance in bone density procedures
Manage operational aspects including coordinating preventative maintenance for all clinics, creating/revising policies and procedures as needed, and ensuring all communications are current and compliant
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Demonstrate clear passion and comprehensive expertise in bone density, including complete knowledge of required scans
Excel in organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing demands while maintaining high standards of patient care
Display strong leadership and communication abilities, effectively engaging with staff, administration, and central booking while maintaining a positive and cooperative demeanor
Exhibit self-motivation and decision-making capabilities, with a committed focus on excellence in patient care, quality control, and adherence to diagnostic imaging standards
Clinical competency in medical radiography.
Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and practices.
Qualifications
MRT(R)/CLXT Designation in good standing with the CAMRT/ACMDTT/ACCLXT
Minimum of 2-3 years bone density experience preferred
Bone Mineral Densitometry Course will be required.
Medication preparation certificate is preferred.
CPR Standard First aid certificate is an asset.
