Under the direction of the Technical Operations Specialist, The Bill of Material (BOM) & Manufacturing Order (MO) Specialist is responsible for ensuring the alignment of the selection software output with customer configurations, managing the generation and review of manufacturing orders, and coordinating post-release changes. The role involves close collaboration with the planning team, sales, and production floor to ensure accurate and timely processing of manufacturing orders.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Review Quote Against Class Output File:



Perform logical checks to verify that the selection software output matches the selected configuration.

Review notes and comments added to the software selection for required customizations.

Update the selection software output file to ensure it contains the correct kits and customer order information.



Generate Manufacturing Orders:



Upload the full Bill of Materials (BOM) file from the specified directory.

Ensure the successful generation of manufacturing orders (MOs) in the M3 system.



Review and Validate Manufacturing Orders:



Conduct a logical comparison between the quote and the exploded BOM in the M3 system.

Confirm that all selected items are included in the MO.

Make necessary modifications to the MOs based on customization requirements or upload errors.

Notify the planning team when MOs are entered and ready for release and scheduling.



Manage Post-Release MO Changes:



Handle sales-directed customer requested changes by reviewing the planned build date and coordinating with the planning team if required.

Implement changes to MOs, including parts removal/addition, and communicate critical changes to the planning team.

Manage floor requested changes via the MCO process, ensuring accurate selection of kits and updating MOs as needed.

Provide feedback to the software team if updates to selection software outputs are necessary.

Summarize findings and notify the planning team when changes are completed.



Backup Customer Order Entry:



Maintain a backup process for customer order entries to ensure data integrity and availability.



Skills, Education, and/or Experience

The following are education and experience criteria used to evaluate the suitability of the BMO & MO Specialist Profile or candidates for the position:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing operations or a related role. Proficiency in using M3 ERP system or similar software. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to perform logical checks and analyze complex data sets. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Experience with BOM management and understanding of manufacturing processes. Problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Technical proficiency in manufacturing software and ERP systems. Analytical skills for reviewing and validating manufacturing orders. Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage and implement change requests efficiently. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work with various departments.

Work Environment:



Office environment with visits to the manufacturing floor. Full-time position, with occasional overtime as required to meet project deadlines.
