The Boiler Operator ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of boilers, heaters, steam, air conditioning, refrigeration, and other auxiliary equipment to support continuous plant operations. The role involves monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment, performing routine inspections, and addressing operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulate, repair, and shut down equipment when required, ensuring safe and economic operations within established limits.
Record key events and maintenance activities in operational logs.
Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication and filter replacement.
Test boiler water and add necessary chemicals to prevent corrosion or harmful deposits.
Assist the Chief Power Engineer with projects related to steam, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
Participate in training sessions, workshops, and meetings.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure plant operations meet SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) standards.
Promote and display positive safety behaviors, ensuring proper use of protective equipment and compliance with safety procedures.
Ensure all work complies with quality procedures, management directives, and improvement initiatives.
Report incidents, near misses, and potential quality deviations.
Support SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) improvement efforts and promote compliance.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, with additional training in steam and refrigeration systems.
Minimum
4th class interprovincial power engineer certificate
.
Experience in steam and refrigeration systems and basic understanding of PNIDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
Familiarity with SHEQ standards and practices.
