Volunteer Board Member for Positive Living Niagara

Overview:
We are dedicated to providing a continuum of innovative and proactive approaches to harm reduction, prevention and a person-centered focus on support and education for those at risk and affected by HIV, HCV and STBBIs. The Board of Directors provides oversight, sets the strategic direction of the organization and is accountable for organizational results. We aspire to have a Board of Directors that is diverse, inclusive and representative of the community that we serve. Special emphasis will be placed on candidates with the following experience:
Accounting/Financial Management
Responsibilities:
1.
Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with other board members to develop and implement strategic plans that align with our mission and vision.
2.
Governance:
Participate in board meetings, contribute to discussions, and make informed decisions that support our growth and sustainability.
3.
Financial Oversight:
Provide oversight of the organization's financial health, including reviewing financial reports, budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial policies.
4.
Fundraising:
Actively participate in fundraising efforts, grant applications, and other initiatives to secure financial support for the organization.
5.
Advocacy and Networking:
Represent the organization in the community, build relationships with stakeholders, and advocate for its mission and programs.
6.
Committee Participation:
Serve on committees as needed, leveraging expertise and contributing to the success of specific projects or initiatives.

Leadership Skills:
Possess leadership experience, strategic thinking, and the ability to contribute to the development and execution of organizational strategies.

Strong interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to represent the organization positively in various settings.
4.
Team Player:
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse personalities and contribute effectively to board discussions and decision-making.
