Position: Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) Rate: $40.00 - $60.00/hour commensurate with experience Status: Part-time or Full-time/Permanent Start Date: As soon as possible Closing Date: Open until filled Location of Employment: 3310 Sutherland Rd., Prince George, BC V2K 1B8 ABOUT US: Gateway Behaviour Services specializes in providing evidence-based Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy to meet the diverse needs of children and youth ages 0-18 years with autism and related disorders. Services include centre-based 1:1 Behaviour Intervention, Play Groups, Social Skills Groups, and a Learning Centre. We are seeking a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst to assist in supporting all four programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the families we serve. RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Clinical Director and Management Team, the Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) is primarily responsible for:
Supervising skill acquisition and behaviour reduction programs: conducting assessments; creating and updating treatment plans and reports, materials, and data collection systems; providing Behaviour Interventionists with initial and ongoing training and supervision; assisting in the management of behaviour that is deemed unsafe; and participating in staff meetings, progress meetings, and team meetings.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members.
Contributing feedback to staff performance evaluations.
Promoting awareness, acceptance, and community relationships for the organization.
Performing other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently holds an active BCBA certification. Individuals who have recently completed their master\xe2\x80\x99s degree and are waiting to take the BACB exam may be considered.
Minimum two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience overseeing ABA programs for children and adolescents.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
Experience supporting individuals across the autism spectrum, including those who use augmentative and alternative communication and exhibit dangerous behaviour.
Physically able to assist with lifting, holding, and positioning learners with physical and behavioural needs.
Ability to resolve conflict, work effectively under pressure, and remain calm in stressful situations.
Intermediate computer skills (e.g., word processing, email, storage and file sharing platforms).
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Is on the Registry of Autism Service Providers or has qualifications to gain this designation is an asset.
Qualified to supervise trainees accruing fieldwork toward BCBA, BCaBA, and RBT certification is an asset .
