Blow Moulding Manager

About the Role:



The Blowmold Manager oversees all operations related to blowmolding production, ensuring optimal machine performance, product quality, safety, and team efficiency. This position is responsible for managing the blowmold team, ensuring equipment is maintained, implementing process improvements, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:



Lead and manage daily operations of the blowmolding department, including shift scheduling, production planning, and resource allocation . Ensure efficient and safe operation of all blowmolding machinery and related equipment. Monitor and drive operational excellence through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, quality, downtime, scrap, and throughput. Ensure productivity standards are met and continuously seek ways to improve efficiency. Train and mentor employees on SOPs, machine operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and safe work practices, etc. Monitor equipment performance to minimize unplanned downtime, proactively solve problems, and identify opportunities for improvement. Coordinate with quality assurance, quality control, and maintenance teams to promptly identify and resolve production and/or equipment issues. Ensure compliance with all aspects of GMP, Health Canada regulations, and company policies. Support the development and maintenance of blowmolding SOPs. Collaborate with QC to identify and implement new manufacturing methods to enhance product quality and/or productivity. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods related to blowmolding operations, and proactively alert Supply Chain/Senior Management of any forecasted shortages. As required, participate in budget planning, cost control, and process optimization initiatives. Collaborate with other departments to meet overall production targets and customer requirements. Provide effective management and leadership to the department including ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained, participating in recruitment and selection, onboarding, training, and performance management.

Requirements:



Bachelor of Science, in Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering, or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field is preferred. 8+ years of experience in blowmolding operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Solid technical understanding of blowmolding processes and equipment. Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience training, coaching, and developing high-performing teams. Strong knowledge of GMP, Health Canada regulations, and packaging quality standards, with proven ability to ensure strict adherence to all regulatory, governance, and mandated GMP requirements. Strong commitment to meeting production targets while maintaining superior quality standards. Analytical and solution-focused thinker with mechanical aptitude. Dependable and proactive, with a positive attitude and willingness to tackle challenges. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear instructions and technical training. Strong written, oral, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders professionally. Highly organized with effective prioritization and decision-making abilities. Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills. Familiarity with ERP and QMS platforms is an asset.
