Position Overview:
The Block Salvage Technician is responsible for inspecting and machining industrial application engine blocks.
:Make accurate and cost-effective recommendations for individual part repairs May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:A minimum of 6 months working in Wage Grade 3 or higher. Relevant & applicable external experience to the position will alternatively be considered. Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C. Previous experience and competency in a block salvage or machine shop is preferred. Previous experience machining engine blocks using Rottler Machines is preferred. Previous exposure to and experience with CNC Programming is preferred. Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively. Ability to demonstrate accuracy in measuring skills is preferred. Ability to read and understand technical documentation is preferred. Strong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructions. Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds. A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and wear a respirator. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures.
