What you will doReporting to the Construction Manager, The Blaster is responsible for operating the Powder Truck in a safe and appropriate manner. The Blaster may be required to operate some other Equipment including, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors and other pieces of equipment. The Blaster must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures.A Day in the LifeReporting to the Construction Manager, the Blaster will operate Blasting equipment, contributing to efficient production at the worksite. The Blaster is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the equipment under their control at the worksite.

• Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
• Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting
• Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation
• Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
• Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure
• Complete all necessary paperwork. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.

What You Bring

• Minimum of 3 years of blasting experience
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
• Clean Driver's Abstract
• Ability to drill in different rock type and apply drilling & blast techniques that allow drilling in wet ground, use of casing, etc.

• Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work as a team member
• Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in Team;
• Possess the physical requirements to perform the job;
