Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Bistro Worker to join our team in Nakusp. (shared employee housing available) This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, food safety, and creating a positive experience for guests. Previous restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required; we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, customer service, and hospitality operations within a vibrant setting.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide attentive service throughout their visit Prepare and serve food and beverages according to established standards Handle food with proper safety and hygiene practices in compliance with food safety regulations Take customer orders accurately, process transactions efficiently, and manage cash or POS systems Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and service stations Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts Assist with food preparation tasks when necessary, including assembling dishes or beverages Ensure a welcoming atmosphere by engaging with guests professionally and courteously

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, food service, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not mandatory Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor Knowledge of food handling safety standards and procedures Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required Must be at least 18 years old (if applicable) or meet local age requirements for food handling roles Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation, serving, and food safety standards Dish-pit duties

Pay: $17.85-$20.00 per year
